July 5, 2011 Cobourg

We left Whitby at 8:00 and arrived at Cobourg around 12:15. The trip was 34.7 miles and we were helped by a strong tail wind. We safely passed Peter Rock, which sticks way out from the shore. I always wonder what someone did to have a rock or a shoal named after him.

I was glad to see that no new diesel fuel went into the bilge. The towels I bought that soak up fuel and oil but not water did there job as we sailed along. Not too much happened this day. You can see that when the best pictures I have to post are Lew cleaning his cockpit, Kerry hanging laundry and a shot of kayaks at the harbor entry. I rode to a couple of marine stores. Kerry and I went to dinner at a pub called Cat & the Fiddle. Tomorrow we will provision for a couple of days at anchor and defrost the freezer. We'll stay in Cobourg one more night. It's really a pleasant little town.
