Our day started with granola pancakes and blueberries on Windchaser. We contributed Canadian bacon and cherry coffee. Gretchen’s pancakes were delicious. About 10:15 we motored the 1.6 miles to the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. The girl dock master had no idea we were coming. She did give us 2 docks though. We both bought fuel and pumped our the heads.
The Niagara Yacht Club had about 35 boats visiting. RCYC boats had cruised to Niagara . We were given dock 131, belonging to a sailor named Spencer. Our neighbor said he was coming back and asked why we were there. I walked to the dock master office and confirmed that he was coming back Monday, not today.
About 2:PM Lew and Gretchen picked us up for a harbor tour on their dingy. Both ladies hid from the sun under umbrellas – notice the picture of Kerry. When we stopped back at Windchaser to refuel the dingy motor the owner of Lew’s dock was sitting in the channel and wanted Lew out of there. This started a series of 4 more dock moves where they tried to put Lew. In one he did not fit, one was too long, etc. Finally he was docked on a wall where the dock master promised he could stay. We left to shower, dress and return at 5:30 for cocktails before dinner which was at 6;30. When we arrived at Windchaser we saw the owner of the dock where Lew was, again wanting him to move! So yet again we moved Windchaser.
Dinner was slow, expensive and delicious. We ate every bit. Lew had prime rib while the rest of us had halibut. We had a rhubarb crunch for dessert. It was delicious and did not come with blueberries – Rosemary! Lew and I had ties and jackets on. I hope the pictures come out as this will be the only time on the trip that will happen.
Love Kerry's dress and earrings! You look good, too Don!
